Japan reports first swine fever case in 26 years
Japan has confirmed its first outbreak of swine fever in 26 years on Sunday, according to the Agriculture Ministry.
The fever, which was discovered in a farm in Gifu city, Japan, has caused the country to suspend pork and wild boar meat exports.
A different kind from the African swine fever outbreak in China, the swine fever disease occurs among pigs and while boar, and is not infectious to humans, the ministry added.
