CPF reports overseas sales growth

Charoen Pokphand Foods' overseas operations in India, Turkey and Russia, collectively recorded a sales growth of 91% for the first half of the year, as compared with just 7% in Thailand, said CEO president Adirek Sripratak.

As such, the company reported Thai baht strength has had "slight impact on business growth."

CPF's overseas operations make up 27% of the company's sales, with exports accounting for 13% and domestic sales 60%.

Overall, CPF's first half-year sales rose 21% on-year to THB91.47 billion (US$2.96 billion), with net profit up 82% to THB7.22 billion (US$230 million), Sripratak said. CPF aims to raise the revenue contribution from overseas to 40% with exports 20% and domestic sales 40%.
