Aviagen launches International Ross 308 in South Africa
Aviagen, for the first time, will distribute the International Ross 308 bird through Ross Poultry Breeders (Pty) Ltd South Africa, the company's long-term partner in the market.
The International Ross 308 will replace the local South African Ross products and South African customers will now be able to take advantage of the performance benefits of the same Ross 308 stock as other Ross customers worldwide, said the company.
Jim McAdam, Aviagen's UK Breeding Programme Director, said they have looked carefully at the future market projections and the ongoing development for the International Ross 308 before deciding on the move.
Michael Longley, Aviagen International Technical Service Manager said the International Ross 308 is very similar to the South African bird it is replacing, while differences in management are very minor and the potential for improved performance is huge.
