Dairy Australia updates learning app
Dairy Australia, the Australian national body for the dairy industry, has updated the Dairy Passport app to help newly hired workers learn skills and gain industry knowledge, Food Processing reported.
The updated app was launched by Victorian Minister for Agriculture Jaclyn Symes on September 7.
Available on desktop, iPhone and Android devices, the app covers topics such as farm safety, cattle handling, and essential tasks such as milking. It provides coaching guides, learning modules and support resources as employees are inducted over their first 90 days on the job. This enables employers to quickly develop workers' skills.
"The fundamental skills and knowledge that Dairy Passport training offers creates a solid foundation for a successful career in dairy, providing help and advice for both farmers and employees," Minister Symes said.
The app was developed as part of the broader Pathways for People in Dairy Program. In addition to the Dairy Passport, the programme includes an online platform for jobseekers to virtually explore and prepare for a career in the industry.
