Hotraco launches new egg counter
Hotraco, a developer of livestock management systems, has launched the EMEC-12-30, a new egg counter that will be part of the company's current range of EMEC-12, EMEC-12-20 and EMEC-30-75 equipment.
The egg counter has been specially developed for systems with group housing and has a maximum scan width of 30cm.
An initial batch of 40 new egg counters were recently installed in a Dutch broiler breeder house. The veranda system in place has an egg belt with a width of 25cm which makes it suitable to work with the EMEC-12-30.
The counters ensure that eggs for hatching are counted per row and per level. Data on the counted eggs are recorded in the ORION computer, and can be accessed through the Rainbow+ management programme.
