Dopharma launches meloxicam for large animals
Dopharma, a Dutch manufacturer of generic pharmaceutical products for livestock has launched the first generic of meloxicam for large animals.
Melovem 5 mg/ml injection is approved in cattle (calves and young cattle) for use in acute respiratory infections and diarrhoea. In pigs it is indicated for the treatment of non-infectious locomotor disorders to reduce the symptoms of lameness and inflammation.
Melovem is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID); it has an analgesic, antipyretic en anti-inflammatory action and is supplied on veterinary prescription only. Melovem is registered in 29 European countries and available now.
