CPF joins local companies to support sustainability in Thailand


 

Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) has joined leading Thai companies under Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) to support sustainable goals in restoring Thailand's economy, social and environment and ensure food security in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.


During a GCNT conference, "Thailand Business Leadership for SDGs 2020", Prasit Boondoungprasert, CEO of CPF, said that all private sectors should play a key role in supporting the recovery of Thailand from the pandemic. Good systematic management to ensure smooth operation is a mandatory practice by which employee is the key mechanism to achieve goals, according to Boondoungprasert.


CPF has put in place protective measures for all employees by implementing stringent sanitation regulations and inspection practices to ensure safety throughout its operation and processing lines, the company said. This is to ensure employees' safety, as well as food safety, which is among the company's three pillars to sustainability.


"CPF is a leading food producer (operating) businesses with the responsibilities for the nation and Thai people by manufacturing foods to serve consumption in all conditions," Boondoungprasert said. "Foods will be served with no shortage. We also encourage our employees to realise this responsibility for both themselves and Thailand."
