UK wheat strengthens with cargoes to Southeast Asia

Export of 60,000-tonne British origin feed wheat is being loaded in the Southampton port of southern England for Southeast Asian shipment, market sources said Friday (Sept 3).

Located at Frontier Agriculture's Southampton terminal, the ship started loading earlier this week.

Dealers said UK feed wheat was currently very competitive with its discount to French milling wheat widening sharply.

"Ships are loading around the whole country," farmers cooperative Openfield said in Friday (Sept 3), noting strong export demand for UK wheat.
