China Corn: Prices merely 2% from 2022's annual high (week ended Sep 4, 2023)

With supply tight, corn prices continued to climb for the fifth consecutive week, despite at a slow pace. Corn prices were highest compared with the same period over the past years,

 

Corn prices averaged RMB2,867/tonne, increasing RMB14/tonne or 0.49% compared with the previous week. Over the past five weeks, corn prices have increased 1.8%.

 

With availability tight, corn prices are expected to exceed 2022's high, which is less than 2% from the current level, marching towards the historic record set in Q1 2021
