Russia resumes poultry import from Pilgrim's Pride's Georgia plant
Russia has reinstated a Pilgrim's Pride plant in Douglas, Georgia, to its list of eligible US poultry exporters.
This is according to USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Pilgrim's can export poultry originating from the Douglas facility that was produced prior to February 5, 2013, and on or after August 27, FSIS said. Poultry produced on or after February 5 and prior to August 27 is ineligible.
The FSIS notice didn't explain Russia's actions. The agency couldn't be reached for comment.
