High feed prices shut down 80 percent of Azerbaijan's poultry farms
Four in five backyard poultry farms are now closed in Azerbaijan due to high feed prices, the central Asian nation.
Aydin Valiyev, Chair of the Azerbaijan Poultry Society, told APA-Economics that the poultry farms failed to get better prices for their products after feed prices jumped and many were forced to close down.
The government is considering the proposals on exemption of feeding imports from VAT, which is currently at 18 percent.
