Iran's SLAL buys about 50,000 tonnes feed barley in tender

Iranian state-owned animal feed importer SLAL has purchased about 50,000 tonnes of feed barley in a tender for 110,000 tonnes which closed last week, European traders said on Tuesday (September 4).

The grain's origin was believed to be Kazakhstan worth US$325 a tonne including transport to northern Iran via the Caspian Sea, not by ocean shipping.

SLAL did not purchase feed wheat in tender because of high prices, traders said. The barley was for shipment up to December.
