Indonesia receives H1N5 vaccine from China

Indonesia has received one-third of the 91-million-dosage bird flu vaccine shipment it ordered from China, an official said Monday (Sep 4).

The remainder would be arriving this month, said Musni Suatmojo, director of veterinary with the Ministry of Agriculture.

The vaccines would be distributed to areas hit by the disease or high risk areas, Suatmojo said, adding that the distribution would be completed by December.

Major poultry vaccination drives are scheduled this month and in February 2007.
