Lombardy, Italy, raises alarm as ASF hits more pig farms

Italy's Lombardy region is intensifying its alert level as more domestic pig farms tested positive for African swine fever (ASF).

The region has called on the entire industry for transparency and responsible behavior from operators in the supply chain.

In an area within a 10km radius of farms where positive ASF cases have been found, all movement of pigs is prohibited - both incoming and outgoing.

Throughout the rest of the territory of Pavia and Lombardy, movements are dependent upon the favorable outcome of clinical examinations and sampling of biological material.
