Bright Dairy & Food records 31.89% rise in net profit for first half of 2012

Bright Dairy & Food Co Ltd has recorded CNY96.68 million (US$15.2 million) in net profit, attributable to shareholders, in the first half of 2012, reflecting a rise of 31.89%.

Bright Dairy said in a statement that basic earnings per share were more the same period of 2011. From January to June, the Shanghai listed company saw its operation revenue grew 16.49%, including contribution from its dairy products business, up 17.78% on-year.

Earlier this month, Bright Dairy & Food's main rival, China Mengniu Dairy Co, the nation's largest dairy maker, has said its net profit attributable to shareholders dropped 18.4%, from a year earlier, in the first half of 2012.
