Russia lifts export ban of Lithuanian pigs

The Russian veterinary authorities have lifted the ban on breeding pigs from Lithuania.

Rosselkhoznador had placed a ban on the import of pigs from Lithuania because of concerns over an outbreak of classical swine fever.

However, the veterinary authority said that the situation had now stabilised and the market could open again.

However, the ban on slaughtered pigs and fattening pigs remains in place.
