China Whey: Prices stay firm on tight supply, improved demand (week ended Aug 31, 2020)
Imports of whey decreased lately, lending support to¬ the market. Meanwhile, as piglet population expanded demand for whey improved modestly.
Price quotes of low-protein whey products were in the range of RMB7,200-7,800/tonne. Prices of high-protein whey products were at RMB7,600-8,000/tonne.
Whey market should remain firm amid limited availability and stable demand.
