Russian beef output down 11.1% in July
Russia produced 15,800 tonnes of beef in July, 11.1% less than in July 2009, the state statistics service reported on Tuesday (Aug 31).
The service also said beef output in July was 4.4% less than in June this year. Meanwhile, beef output in the period fell 3% compared with January-July 2009.
Earlier, exports of Irish beef to Russia are expected to increase in the coming months after the Russian authorities relaxed their BSE testing standards.
