FMD spreading in Russia's Khabarovsk region 


 

Russia's Khabarovsk region near the Chinese border is reporting more FMD cases in its livestock.

 

So far, 882 animals are suspected to have contracted the disease, which includes 570 new cases found in a mere 24 hours. FMD has also been confirmed in 794 animals, according to an Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman on Aug 31.

 

The number of cattle culled is now at 138.

 

FMD has been reported in the Bikin and Vyazemsky district of Khabarovsk territory since Aug 21, and in the Spassky, Dalnerechensky, Kirovsky and Pozharsky districts of Primorye since Aug 26.
