Russia suspends meat imports from Australia, China and Spain

From September 9, meat imports from three companies from Australia, Spain and China will be suspended by the Russian Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight Service.

The service detected mesophilic anaerobic bacteria in a load of beef of Australia Pty Ltd, listerias in a load of pork of Spain's Frecarn S.A. and intestinal bacteria in a load of frozen mussels of China's Rizhao Longxing Ltd.

According to the watchdog, this was not the first time that the three companies broke sanitary regulations.
