Diamond V has announced that the grand opening of their second manufacturing facility will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
Chet Culver, Governor of Iowa and Kay Holloran, Mayor of Cedar Rapids, will preside over the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 pm.
One of the newest additions to the industrial corridor of Cedar Rapids, Diamond V's 64,000 square foot building sits on 77 acres at 2575 60th Avenue SW.
This new US$25 million state-of-the-art facility will enhance Diamond V's ability to better service its customers and keep pace with growing demand both in the US and around the world.
Adding this new facility will allow the company to meet the rapidly growing demand for proprietary products in all species of animals and aqua, and also enhance their ability to continue to bring innovation to the marketplace.
Quality control is critical at Diamond V. This new facility was built with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's) in mind, capitalising on the latest technology to enhance product consistency, automation and control, such as:

Automated control systems to monitor incoming raw ingredients and process control practices;

State-of-the-art drying systems;

DiaMatrix Technology to ensure product consistency from batch to batch; and

The facility holds the following certifications: Iowa Department of Agriculture Feed Manufacturer License, Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals Food Grade Manufacturaing License, AFIA Safe Feed Safe Food, FCI HACCP certification, Dutch GMP-Plus (B2) certification, and APVMA GMP.
