India seeks more wheat than initially offered in tender
India is seeking more wheat from suppliers who bid in a recent tender above the 530,000 tonnes already offered, a senior government official said Friday (Aug 31).
"Even if we are able to garner around 700,000 tonnes or more, the government will consider these purchases depending on price viability," the official told Dow Jones Newswires.
He said apart from bulk cargoes, particularly those in panamax vessels offered for delivery to the western port of Mundra, the government is considering the viability of buying 5,000 tonnes offered in containers by Singapore-based Starcomm Resources.
