USMEF expands online presence to attract Asian buyers
The US Meat Export Federation (USMEF) expanding its presence on the Internet to disemminate information on US pork and beef safety, cooking trends, and nutrition to international consumers, meat buyers, and chefs.
In addition to its current website www.usmef.org, USMEF recently added new sites to cater to its Asian markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to encourage sales of US pork and beef.
USMEF is using a special Internet site in Japan to complement its "We Care" campaign to showcase the high quality image of US beef.
The "We Care" site features latest information on US beef and safety procedures for the Japanese market.
Since polls show many Japanese consumers doubt the safety of US beef and are reluctant to buy them, the USMEF campaign would aim to ease consumer fears, the USMEF said.
