Company opens poultry farm in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, with US$1.7 million investment

A private company in Afghanistan has built and opened a poultry farm in the country's eastern Nangarhar province.
The facility has an investment of Afs120 million (US$1.7 million), an official said on August 24.
During the farm's inauguration ceremony, Deputy Nangarhar Governor Mawlavi Saeed Ahmad Banawri considered the initiative a big step in the development of the poultry industry in the Afghanistan. He called on businessmen in and outside the country to invest in Afghanistan, pledging full government support to any investment initiative.
Canal Department Head Mawlavi Ghulam Rahman Kazeem said Insaf Kawsar Company has been given eight acres of land for the construction of the poultry farm in the Hadai Farm area. More land would be provided if the company wants to expand its business.
Zalmai Qureshi, head of the Insaf Kawsar Company, said he built three facilities on eight acres of land at the cost of Afs50 million (US$706,250). Each of the facilities has the capacity to raise 10,000 chickens.
