Mexico commences second of round of bird flu vacinnation

 

 

Mexico is commencing the second round of bird flu vaccination, with 90 million doses of vaccine headed for the Lost Altos region of Jalisco.

 

The recent outbreak of H7N3 bird flu has to date resulted in the culling of 11 million birds. The first phase of the vaccination campaign vaccinated roughly 88.3 million birds. A further 53 million doses are being kept in reserve.

 

Senasica director, Enrique Sanchez, has stated that poultry distribution is expected to resume this month.
