ASF continues to spread in Russia
The Russian veterinary authorities have reported eight new outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in the country.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 39 on August 25. According to the report, the outbreak occurred in swine and wild boar.
In the case of swine, a total of two cases were identified and 15,761 were found susceptible to the disease. In the case of the wild species, six animals were affected by the ASF virus.
The source of the outbreak is currently under investigation.
