Russia bans Armenian meat on African swine fever
Russia's federal food quality watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor imposed Wednesday (August 29) a total ban on the import of meat from Armenia, as well as the transit via Armenia of meat from third countries to Russia, after preliminary laboratory tests showed the presence of African swine fever in the country.
Rosselkhoznadzor also said a ban was in operation on the import from Armenia of all vegetable products, including transit from third countries, and the return of railway cars used for grain transportation unless they have undergone special chemical treatment.
