Russian Fishery Co. to build new cod processing factory

 

 

 

The Russian Fishery Co. (RFC), Russia's largest pollock harvester, has partnered with the Agama Group to construct a coastal processing factory (called "Russian Cod) at the Northern Fishery Basin (Murmansk, Russia).

 

The processing capacity of the factory will be more than 50 tonnes of finished products per day. RFC plans to put the factory into operation at the end of 2019.

 

The factory will be equipped with high-tech equipment and will produce high-quality fish products including cod and haddock fillet and mince.

 

Total investment into the project is planned at up to $12 million Starting from 2020 RFC will receive additional 2,300 tonnes of cod and haddock quota (1,800 for cod and 500 for haddock) once the Russian Cod factory is commissioned.

 

"The construction of the factory is an important step for our company to meet the demand of the consumer", said Fedor Kirsanov, CEO of the RFC. "Together with partners, we provide a complete production chain from harvesting to a high-quality finished product".
