Price rise in China's meat, eggs won't cause inflation
China's recent rise in meat and egg prices won't cause inflation as the government has sufficient grain reserves, and a balanced supply and demand will also help guarantee a stability in prices, the country's economic planner said Thursday (August 27).
"The price rise won't be an overall one, and won't last long or be big," the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement published on its Web site.
The current rise in pork and egg prices is a recovery, and reasonable increases can help protect farmers' interests, the NDRC said.
