Iraq to boost domestic poultry sector

Mohammed Al-Khafaji, Iraqi Minister of Agriculture said the government will import corn and soybeans as poultry feed to boost poultry and egg production in Iraq, the Middle East North Africa Financial Network reported.

In a meeting with Iraqi poultry producers and breeders, Mohammed Al-Khafaji said the government will provide support and facilities for breeders and investors.

These include establishing projects and laboratories for the purification and drying of yellow corn as a way to improve Iraq’s poultry industry.
