Australia to launch AU$1-million beef campaign in Indonesia
Australian cattle producers hope to launch an AU$1-million campaign promoting Australian beef in Indonesia, pending on the Federal Government's approval for an increase in beef transaction levy.
The proposed campaign would include promotions in Indonesian supermarkets.
Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) explained that Australia's beef industry needs to prepare itself to fight for more beef market share in Indonesia, and cites Brazil as a potential competitor once it achieves a FMD-free status.
MLA also pointed out that Australia's beef industry should now cater to a growing global demand for higher quality beef.
