Mengniu Dairy begins operation for new facilities
 

China Mengniu Dairy Co., Ltd commences operation for two new facilities in Hebei Province, China, on August 22.
 
The Baoding Phase-II project and the new plant in Hengshui will totally cost more than CNY2.5 billion (US$393.3 million). Designed daily capacity of the two production bases add up to 2,000 tonnes and the products will cover Beijing, Tianjin and North China.

Being Mengniu Dairy's first self-owned PET production line in the country, the Baoding Phase-II project will be able to produce 300,000 tonnes of PET milk beverage. The company predicts that annual sales revenue of the project will reach CNY1.59 billion (US$250 million).

The Hengshui new plant consists of three parts namely modern grass growing, intensified cow breeding and intelligent processing.

After the two new plants in Hebei are opened, the company will also put a new factory in Yunnan Province with daily production capacity being roughly 850 tonnes into operation within this year.
