China Feed Additives Market Monthly Review: China's Feed Additives Market Weekly Update (Week 33)
An eFeedLink Exclusive
Domestic demand for feed additives was soft over the week as feed millers stayed cautious. In a bid to stimulate export sales, feed additives producers held export prices low with renminbi depreciating.
Vitamins markets:
In the vitamins market, prices of several products moved lower.
Record high prices of vitamin B12 dampened buying interest, compelling producers to cut prices to USD38/kg.
As BASF resumed production, ample availability dragged down the prices of vitamin A, vitamin E and vitamin D3 to USD52/kg, USD4.90/kg and USD60/kg respectively.
Although one major vitamin B2 producer halted operation for routine maintenance during July and August, prices continued to soften due to sluggish demand. Compared with the previous week's USD20.50/kg, vitamin B2 prices settled lower at USD20/kg.
Ample availability of vitamin K3, niacin and calcium pantothenic acid exerted pressure on the market. Prices of vitamin K3 slid to USD8.10/kg whereas those of niacin dipped to USD4.20/kg. Calcium pantothenic acid prices dropped by about 5% to USD10.80/kg.
Amino acids markets:
As producers limited production or halted operation for routine maintenance during summer, low output lent support to lysine market. Meanwhile, increased demand from overseas, in conjunction with a strong soymeal market, held sales firm. Prices of 70% and 98.5% lysine were at USD0.58/kg and 1.03/kg respectively.
Historic low threonine prices enticed buyers to make purchases, albeit prudently. However, threonine producers lowered export prices to USD1.07/kg in efforts to stimulate demand.
Tryptophan prices remained stable at USD8.50/kg with export demand improving.
