Jordan tenders to purchase 100,000 tonnes feed barley
Jordan's Ministry of Trade and Industry said Wednesday (Aug 22) it is tendering to buy 100,000 tonnes of feed barley, of any origin, on a cost and freight basis.
Jordan is looking to buy 50,000 tonnes of barley for shipment during the second half of September and another 50,000 tonnes for shipment during the first half of October, Muhannad Ghesh, senior importer at the ministry, told Dow Jones Newswires.
The deadline for bids is Sep 5, he said.
Jordan last bought barley Aug 5 when it purchased 50,000 tonnes from Glencore at US$339.80/tonne for shipment until Aug 31, and 50,000 tonnes from Bunge at US$341.35/tonne for shipment during the first half of September.
