Meriden Animal Health launches Meri-Bond Xtra feed additive
Press release
Meriden Animal Health Limited has recently added an all in one toxin binder, ammonia binder and anti-caking agent with a high cation exchange capacity (CEC) to its range of natural feed additives.
The high CEC is the core of Meri-Bond Xtra's mode of action, which makes it an excellent toxin binder, anti-caking agent and ammonia-binding agent, the company said.
Suitable for use in all types of animal feed, Meri-Bond Xtra also has a low binding affinity for antibiotics, coccidiostats, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients and feed additives, leading to less wastage and cost savings.
According to Meriden, Meri-Bond Xtra contains a very pure form of clinoptilolite, a zeolite that is naturally formed by the devitrification of volcanic ash in lake and marine waters.
The company said Meri-Bond Xtra improves:
- Cation exchange capacity
- Binding properties
- Feed pellet durability
- Stability during feed processing (pelleting, extrusion) and storage
- Resistance and durability over a wide range of conditions (including pH, temperature and humidity)
- Anti-caking properties and flow agent for feed
