DuPont Pioneer launches web-based software for field management

DuPont Pioneer, a supplier of plant genetics, has introduced Pioneer® Field360 Select software, a next generation web-based field management tool which facilitates better use of field data collected by growers, thus improving farm productivity and profitability.

Backed by several decade worth of soil, weather and precipitation data for comparison purposes, the new subscription service monitors and predicts field progress and growth stage by combining field-by-field data with real-time agronomic and weather information. The process is supported by multiple digital tools such as the growth stage estimator which compiles planting records with DunPont Pioneer's Agronomy Sciences data in determining the growth stages of company's own corn hybrids based on a specific date range; the GDU Calculator which tracks field-by-field corn crop progress; and the precipitation estimator which uses local weather data to deliver precipitation estimates.

In addition to these functions, Field360's capability to work with a mobile device app enables a grower to take digital notes and photos with GPS tags for the tracking of field-by-field agronomic status, and confidentially share instant information with DuPont Pioneer agronomists and sales professionals.

Also available in the software are interactive field maps which display boundaries layered with planting, harvest, and virtual reference station (VRS) maps, planting plans and soil types.

The Pioneer Field360 Select software runs on any Web-accessible electronic device and is compatible with data cards from most planting and harvest monitor systems.
