A US$5 million pig breeding facility in Vietnam's southern province of Binh Phuoc has started operating by Japfa Hypor Genetic Breeding Co., a joint venture between Japfa Comfeed Long An and Dutch Hypor B.V.
The facility, located at the Hon Quan district, will provide high-quality sows for local farmers and other breeding facilities, aiming to help improve the Vietnamese swine industry.
The joint venture will spend US$1.5 million on importing 700 sows from Canada and France in September, said General Director Nguyen Quoc Trung.
The breeding facility uses Dutch software Agrovision to connect with the global data processing system of Hypor to analyse the breeding works.
Japfa Comfeed Long An is an Indonesian foreign-invested company, specialising in production and trade of animal feed while Hypor B.V is the global leader in pig genetics.
