China's food safety problems a boon for Thai food exports
China's problems with food safety would be Thailand's gain, according to the Thai Food Processors Association
Vilai Klatsrichart, president of the Association, said Thailand has a lot to gain from China's food safety problems and could hope to expand its markets in the US, EU, Canada and Japan.
As a result of more stringent measures against Chinese food products from these countries, Thailand's food exports may increase 10-12 percent increase over 2006, in spite of the strengthening Thai baht, she added.
