Red meat output by Iran's official slaughterhouse dropped 1% in July

A total of 51,862 tonnes of red meat were produced in Iran's official slaughterhouses during the month ending July 22 to register a 1% decrease compared to the previous month and a 4% year-on-year decline.

The Statistical Center of Iran's (SCI) latest report shows beef accounted for 24.210 tonnes, or 46.7% of the overall meat production, indicating a year-on-year decline of 15%, SCI reported on its website.

A total of 23,499 tonnes of lamb (up 11% year-on-year), 3,287 tonnes of goat meat (down 1% year-on-year) and 866 tonnes of meat from other types of livestock were produced during the one-month period, accounting for 45.3%, 6.3% and 1.7% of the total output, respectively.
