GenoMar Genetics announces new tilapia breeding centre in Brazil

GenoMar Genetics Group, a tilapia genetic product distributor, has announced the construction of a tilapia breeding and genetics centre in Tocantins state, Brazil, Fish Information & Services reported.

GenoMar said rhe new tilapia breeding and genetics centre will be the first in Latin America, with enough capacity to manage the company's breeding programmes.

The hatchery will also be used to produce parent stock for the company's distribution operations.

Construction of the centre has already started, and is estimated to be completed and operational by the first quarter of 2021.
