Futures for US corn, wheat and soymeal rise

 

 

While US soybean and soybean oil futures declined, those of corn, wheat and soymeal advanced on August 15.

 

Wheat firmed, due to rising hostilities in the major wheat producing area of the Black Sea region, as corn followed.

 

Chicago September wheat moved up US$0.14, closing at US$5.51¼ a bushel, while Kansas City September gained US$0.11¾, closing at US$6.19¾ a bushel. Minneapolis September rose US$0.06¼, closing at US$6.12 a bushel.

 

September corn advanced US$0.03¾, closing at US$3.65¾ a bushel. September soybeans gained US$0.4¼, closing at US$11.02½ a bushel, but other contracts declined. September soymeal gained US$5.90, closing at US$388.30/tonne.

 

Lastly, September soybean oil fell US$0.64.
