UK total June wheat exports up on-year
UK wheat exports for the month of June totalled 240,943 tonnes, data published by the Home Grown Cereals Authority showed Tuesday (August 18).
This takes the July 2008 - June 2009 wheat exports to 3.509 million tonnes, up sharply from 1.598 million tonnes over the same period the previous year.
The majority of the UK's June wheat exports were destined for Spain, which imported 103,010 tonnes, taking its total 2008-09 imports of UK wheat to 973,696 tonnes.
