Japfa, CJ Feed to invest in Myanmar's farm sector
Japfa Comfeed Myanmar and CJ Feed are making investments to stimulate the growth of Myanmar's farm sector, DealStreetAsia reported.
Japfa, whose subsidiary has been operating in Myanmar since 2013, was authorised by the country's government to invest $7.07 million in a poultry farm and hatchery while CJ Feed will inject $16.7 million in Yangon. The Japfa-funded facility will be established in the Myingian district of Mandalay Region.
Japfa currently possesses a 99% share in Japfa Comfeed Myanmar, employs more than 300,000 people and has sites for production, processing and distribution across Indonesia, China, Vietnam, India and Myanmar.
CJ Feed's recent investment, which was approved by the Myanmar Investment Commission, will expand the production and sales of animal feed in Myanmar. Its production facility will be located in Myaung Dagar Thanmani Industrial Zone of Hmawbi township in Yangon region.
