Vietnam's Vissan to construct biggest meat processing plant
The Vissan Co. Ltd., Vietnam's biggest neat processor, will construct a VND700 billion meat processing complex (US$40.92 million) on Luong Binh commune, Ben Luc district, southern Long An province.
According to a report by VOVNews, the complex is expected to be finished next year and operations will be in full blast by 2012.
Annually, the market will see a supply of approximately 38,000- 40,000 tonnes of pork, 4,600-5,000 tonnes of cattle products, 8,000-10,000 tonnes of poultry products and 71,000-75,000 tonnes of processing food, the report stated.
The 22.4-hectare complex will have:

An abattoir for 360 pigs, 35 head of cattle, 2000 head of poultry per hour

A food processing system for 1,200 tonnes of Chinese sausage, 12,500 tonnes of tinned food, 45,500 tonnes of hot dogs and 2,000 tonnes of pork pie per year.
