Triumph Foods increases pork production
Triumph Foods, the producer-owned pork company based in St. Joseph, Missouri, recently increased production by adding a second shift to its St. Joseph pork plant, the company said on Wednesday (Aug 16).
Patt Lilly, the company's chief administrative officer, said the new plant started production in January and has the capacity to slaughter about 16,000 hogs a day. Production will gradually increase as the company adds more workers to its ranks, he said.
The company is also acquiring a site for its new pork plant in East Moline, Illinois before year-end. The plant would operational by Jan 2009.
