Corn prices in China generally stable but edge higher in some regions (Aug 18, 2005)

Corn prices in China generally remained stable early this week, but edged higher in some regions.


Prices generally remained stable in the north-eastern production regions. 


Ex-warehouse prices in the Yellow / Huai River production regions edged higher in recent days, rising by RMB10-20/tonne.


Transaction prices in northern ports such as Dalian and Jinzhou have slipped, falling by RMB10-20/tonne due to abundant supplies resulting from the weak demand in the southern consumption regions.


Meanwhile, corn prices in the southern consumption regions generally remained stable, but edged higher by RMB10/tonne in some regions with reduced shipment arrivals.
