In four days, Nor-Fishing 2018 will open in Trondheim, Norway. This event is dubbed as "The industry's meeting place", as Nor-Fishing has been an important national and international meeting place for the fisheries industry since 1960. Today it is one of the largest fisheries technology exhibitions in the world, drawing around 15,000 visitors from about 50 countries. 

 

We've picked 12 other events slated within the next three months, including HydroMediT 2018, or the 3rd International Congress on Applied Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment. This event, which will be held in Greece, will focus on research and innovation technology applied mainly in the Mediterranean and its adjacent waters.

Vietnam Fisheries International Exhibition 2018 (Vietfish 2018)

Vietfish 2018, which is expected to attract more than 10,000 domestic and international visitors, seafood exporters and importers, seafood services suppliers, international importers/retailers, NGOs and the media, will be held at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center.

 

The event's organizer, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters & Producers, or VASEP, will hold nine major conferences related to "hot" topics of the fisheries industry such as sustainable aquaculture, supply and demand trends, the impact of trade war on fisheries, sustainable labor employment, social security, IUU fishing, climate change, and advanced technology implication.

AQUA 2018 – France

AQUA 2018 will take place in the beautiful French city of Montpellier and will comprise

8th International Symposium on Aquatic Animal Health

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

The American Fisheries Society – Fish Health Section is partnering with the Prince Edward Island BioAlliance and the Atlantic Veterinary College to host ISAAH 2018 on the beautiful east coast of Canada in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

 

This international symposium is held quadrennially, with the last meeting taking place in 2014 in Portland, Oregon, USA. The symposium is broad in scientific scope, geographic range and impact to the aquatic animal health community worldwide.  Previous meetings have drawn aquatic animal health professionals from across the globe, attended historically by 300 to 400 participants.

 

The inaugural ISAAH took place in 1988 on the west coast of North America in Vancouver, Canada.  Subsequent meetings all tool place in the US. The 2018 meeting theme will be "Integrating Biotechnology in the Advancement of Aquatic Animal Health ".

GOAL

GOAL (Global Outlook for Aquaculture Leadership) returns to Latin America for the first time in seven years. It's also GOAL's first time in Ecuador. The conference is being co-hosted by Ecuador's La Cámara Nacional de Acuacultura, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

HydroMediT 2018

The 3rd International Congress on Applied Ichthyology & Aquatic Environment or HydroMediT 2018 will focus on research and innovation technology applied mainly in the Mediterranean and its adjacent waters.

 

The theme of the congress, which is held biannually, is "Blue Biotechnology in Aquatic Living Resources". This highlights the importance of novel methods in the secure and sustainable supply of good quality food from the sea.

 

The key note speaker will be Professor Achilles Kapanidis of the University of Oxford, who will talk on "Single-molecule stories: from biological nanomachines to smart biosensors", and the different sessions will run from Thursday, Nov 8, to Sunday, Nov. 11.

 

The official language of the conference is English and the event will be run by a team from the ichthyology departments of three Greek universities and the Panhellenic Society of Technologists Ichthyologists.

 

This third congress is being hosted in Volos, with national and international stakeholders as co-organisers, supporters and sponsors.
