Archer Daniels Midland spends US$340,000 in lobbying
According to a disclosure report, Archer Daniels Midland Co. has spent US$340,000 in Q2 to lobby the federal government on renewable fuels like ethanol and on farming legislation.
According to the report filed July 20, Archer Daniels Midland, which grows, ships and processes major crops like soy and corn, lobbied the federal government on efforts to develop corn-based ethanol.
The company's lobbying expenditure is up from the US$260,000 it spent during a year earlier but less than the US$400,000 it spent in 2010's first quarter.
In April through June, Archer Daniels Midland is reported to have lobbied Congress, the Environmental Protection Agency, the White House and the Departments of Transportation and Agriculture.
