Ukraine aims to become second in world grain exports

In the current marketing year, Ukraine plans to occupy second place in the world in terms of grain exports after the US, as announced by agrarian policy and food minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk.

"The current marketing year forecast for world grain trade is 286 million tonnes. A significant share belongs to Ukraine, which will retain its leading position in the international grain market. In general, we are expected to enter the top five leading world exporters of grain," Prysiazhniuk said.

"As for the main grain importers, East Asia plans to buy 60 million tonnes this year, the Middle East - 40 million tonnes, North Africa - 33 million tonnes. The markets of these regions are very attractive to us, and we will develop cooperation with them," the minister added.
