Ukraine raises meat export value by nearly 90%
Ukrainian meat shipments to foreign markets in H1 2011 increased in value by almost 90% compared with last year's figures of the same period, according to the State Statistics Service.
"Exports of meat and offal from Ukraine in the first half of 2011 grew by 89.7% over the same period of 2010. In all, the product was exported at US$95,696.8 million," reads the statement.
Despite 41.4% decline in imports, the amount of supplies to Ukraine exceeded the amount of exports-US$111,174.8 million.
Exports of milk and dairy products, eggs, poultry, honey went up by 8.8% to US$33,684.6 million, imports grew by 16.9% to reach US$60,380.7 million.
